Ache Series

The first in the Ache series was a large paper box made from plain white paper. I cut tabs out of the box, which were floppy and limp. On each tab is a receiving end of a metal garment snap.

A second variation featured longer tabs with the addition of a hand-sewn plastic pouch that surrounding each tab end.

Ten Ways to Ache

A spin-off installation call Ten Ways to Ache featured a herd of 9 large paper boxes on the floor with various cut-outs either connecting, preventing connection, or contorting the boxes in some way.

I created a few smaller, simpler versions of the Ache boxes, such as this one, which has receiving-end snaps only visible on the inside.
